Kirsty and Hamish’s Sydney Wedding – Dawes Point and the Doltan House, Pyrmont

Another gorgeous day in the heart of Sydney for the gorgeous Kirsty and Hamish. Kirsty was just breathtaking when I first saw her on her wedding day, she just looked stunning. Hamish was a hilarious character, always joking and making everyone laugh. The day started off perfectly and we were lucky to have a gorgeous sunny day at Dawes Point, Sydney. It made for picture perfect views of Sydney Harbour and Hamish arrived in style on the Rivercat to Circular Quay and headed his way to the ceremony which was filled with warmth, laughter and love. Afterwards we went around for our location shoot near the Harbour Bridge before heading of to the amazing Doltan House at Jones Bay Wharf, Pyrmont for some more photos before the reception.

It was such a great wedding and I didn’t want to leave as the guest were all so warm and inviting and that’s what I appreciate the most and enjoy the most when photographing a couples wedding, yet being made to feel as guest also. It was lovely to sit at one of the tables with the guests and getting to know them better as well as the lovely couple.

I found it hard to narrow down my favourites so I had to share these below to tell the story of the day.

Julie and Steve’s Sydney Engagement Photos

When I meet up with Steve and Julie for their engagement shoot, it was pouring down hard with rain! The location was just beautiful and a hidden little gem in Sydney, one which I hadn’t known about before. We huddled up together in the car, catching up and going over their wedding in more detail. It was so lovely to see just how in love this gorgeous couple were with each other. Julie is engaging and has such a beautiful personality, it’s pretty clear to see why Steve is just so adoring of her! Finally the rain petered down and we got out of the car. I grabbed my little umbrella just in case it decided to pour again. Fortunately it didn’t and we had beautiful sunshine for the rest of the afternoon for some lovely photos.

Newborn Photography – Beautiful baby boy, Eli – Summer Hill, Sydney

I had such a wonderful day photographing this beautiful, baby boy, Eli! Bliss! I just love his name. Both mum and dad are truly lucky to have such a chilled out little son. Eli was sleeping peacefully when I arrived at their home. After I had set up the portable studio he started to stir ever so slightly, so I thought it was a good opportunity to move him onto the setting. He slowly started to wake up, little eyes blinking open but he didn’t cry at all, just looked around, saw mum nearby and continued lying there content whilst I took some photos. Later after his feed he was soon ready for another nap and curled back up nicely for some more photos. I had to stop and just look at him in awe. He was too adorable with his lovely thick dark hair, big full lips and sweet nature. Here are a few of my favourite ones. I love how his little hands still go up to the side of his head!

Newborn Photographer – Gorgeous baby Xavier – Pennant Hills

I had a wonderful morning photographing this lovely family and their newborn baby Xavier. I loved little Xavier’s scrumptious baby face! He was so adorable and made many delightful expressions throughout our photography shoot. The rest of the time he was happy to fall asleep for some beautiful dreamy photos. I loved photographing this little cheeky boy! He was just gorgeous with his big eyes and contagious, happy smile! When he smiled his whole face lit up! He was a little camera shy but I still managed to get some lovely photos. His grandfather also gave him a necklace as a special gift which he was very interested in too. Great taste, already loving the gold at this age

Sneak peek into other weddings recently shot

Once again I have to show my love for black and white photos. Here are 2 images from recent weddings photographed that show different emotions. The first one is of the lovely couple Josh and Renee standing in front of the afternoon sun. Yes shooting into direct sunlight can cause havoc for some photographs and is often tsk tsk’d upon to do, however sometimes you can achieve beautiful results if done correctly. I just love how the sunlight is beaming down the path behind them and highlighting their hair beautifully. I again love the dark spots in the photograph where the sun is unable to light up. I love how the sun picks up on certain reflections in the background making the light dance across the image.

The other photograph I have below is of the wonderful Natasha and Algy who just got married yesterday. I love this photograph because by making it black and white you are really drawn to each persons emotion. There’s the look of happiness on the grooms face, the sweet blushing bride, the happy mother and the proud father, who was compelled to wipe tears of happiness away from his eyes as he brought his daughter down the isle. Getting to know the family better later on in the day and capturing many other photos of the father and bride, you could just tell he was so proud of his daughter as he couldn’t stop smiling or take his eyes off her. Natasha’s parents also travelled a long way to get here for the intimate wedding, all the way from England! So it was truely a special, emotional day and this photo is just one of many that captures that raw emotion between family.

I love my job, especially when capturing these moments!

Black and White Photography – Sydney Photographer

I just celebrated my mum’s 60th and had such a great day catching up with family and friends. Of course I had my camera and I happened to look across and see my little girl enjoying the last piece of her chocolate birthday cake. The light coming in from the window and where she was standing was just perfect, I couldn’t have asked for a better conditions. There’s black and white detail in everything you see from the white walls and the dark space behind it, as well as the old furniture in the background to the floor and table.

This photo is so special to me right now and it will always be. I turned it into black and white because for one thing, I just love black and white photography as it just enhances the details within the photograph, giving you more to look at, therefore creating more of an emotional feel to it. The other reason being is that I can also imagine my daughter showing her children and grandchildren this photo of when she was just a young toddler, the same way I’ve looked over my mums and grandmothers photos of when they were young little girls, purely out of interest and also to see how the genes have passed down through the generations!

In this photo I do see a little of my mum and grandmother, it’s just a wonder to see. At the end of the day that’s what I want to bring to you and your family… classic, timeless photos that your whole family came value and appreciate.

Soul Mates. 2 very special, strong, romantic words you could ever hear when talking about 2 people who are genuinely in love and meant to be together. That’s Juleen and Hendru. A classic story of how 2 people, who weren’t looking for love, found each other one night. The rest is history! They just adore and love one another, it was such a beautiful and romantic day. I’m very much looking forward to their special wedding day in March, it’s going to a wonderful day, I’m sure.

Baby Ainslie’s Family Portraits – Sydney

I spent a lovely afternoon photographing this beautiful family in Sydney. Little Ainslie was a dream to work with. A gorgeous blue-eyed baby, relaxed and so content. I just adore the photo where she delicately picks up the yellow material of the petti-skirt and then lets it fall. So dainty! We were so lucky to have had beautiful weather because right after the last click the heavy clouds rolled in very quickly and the skies opened up to a massive thunderstorm!
